Pompano Beach Florida in April
 

My husband and I are going to Pompano Beach during April vacation with our 4 kids 12,11,7 and 4. We are staying at the Fairways of Palm Aire, a timeshare resort. We've never been to Pompano Beach and are looking for any ideas/suggestions for things to do. Any info on the Palm Aire would be great too. Thanks!

There is really not that much to do in Pompano however Pompano is close to Ft. Lauderdale, you might want to do a text search on Ft. Lauderdale and see what you come up with.

Sharona, <BR> <BR>1. I forgot to mention that the Festival Flea Market is just down the road (Sample Road) from Butterfly World and Quiet Waters Park. I'm not a shopping kind of gal but I find this place interesting. In addition to all the stalls, there is a food court and a game room that your kids might find interesting. I have walked from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL, (5 miles north of Ft. L) to Pompano Beach, via the beach. Pompano is only 3 miles from LBTS, and it is good exercise and who would not like a beach walk. Ft. Lauderdale is just south of Pompano. There are so many things to do in South Florida. You should search the web and find the Fort Lauderdale Visitors web site. They have info, I think even on Pompano Beach hotels/motels.

If you are a bargain hunter, definitely go to the Flea Market. I found Hallmark Christmas Ornaments for a buck.

I hope that you are aware that Palm Aire is nowhere near any beach. It is about a half hour drive if the traffic is bad which I assure you it will be in April. Palm Aire is a huge golf and spa resort area, at the Western borders of Pompano. About a million condominiums surrounding a number of golf courses, and thousands of little elderly people sitting around the pools.
