What is the best package to take for the full tour, dinner and show at the PCC.

I saw this post a couple of days ago and passed on it but since no one has answered you I will give MY opinion and maybe you'll get others. Just remember this is MY opinion only, and actually, my real feeling is, if you haven't been some place and it intrigues you, then go, do it and make up your own mind. If you love it then you can put it on your must do again list, and if it's not that great for you then it's "been there, done that, wasn't great, won't do again. First of all, what time of year are you going? I have been there when it's been really quiet and not a lot of activity going on in the different venues. I think the cost is absolutely outragous first of all. Secondly I thought the luau was horrible. You are crammed in like sardines, the food is awful, served in styrofoam plates. I was falling asleep during the entertainment. The best thing I saw there is at the end of the day when the boats representing the different islands come sailing down the canal. I stayed away from the Morman "presentation". Having said all that, if all the venues are going and you work throgh some of the "corny" parts of the presentations, there is good informations about all the Pacific Islands, their history, and the relationship of all the island peoples. I still think you could spend your money much better other places. So, now this will come back to the top and you will get some other opinions.

As above, I saw this post but refrained from comment since I have not been there myself, and have a somewhat negative reply.

I have a big problem with supporting Mormons and with the Disney-esque theme park nature of this venue. You can see authentic Hawaiian music, dancing, historical sites, many other places on Oahu.

You know? I always try to be somewhat tactful with my responses to posts because I AM only giving my own opinion but I've thought it over and I'll tell you how I really feel. Don't go there, it's a total rip off,, not at all worth the outragous price they charge, the food is awful, the gift shops are nothing that you can't get in a zillion other places and if it's the right day and you drive by there, the parking lot will be just packed with poor unsuspecting "victims" :)

Well I will be brave and add my thoughts to what crefloors and suze posted. I originally bypassed your thread to diana3 because anything I posted would have been negative and didn't want to annoy anyone.

Many years ago we went to the Polynesian Cultural Centre. So ok, did that. But never again! No need to repeat what credloors and suze posted but just for the record I am in complete agreement with them.

Whatever you decide do have a beautiful time in Hawaii!

I too went recently, and was disappointed. The students were simply "play acting" at being a member of this or that nationality. They obviously were uncomfortable, and apparently had had no training in dealing with the public, responding knowledgeably to ordinary inquiries, and in general in being at ease with visitors. Go to the native dance show at any of the Waikiki hotels; it will be more enjoyable and money better spent.
