We will be arriving in Oahu in less than two weeks and would really like to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the luau and evening performance. Should we purchase our tickets now or wait until we arrive in Oahu ?

I think that with a two week window, you should be OK to book when you get to Oahu.
Booking tickets on the PCC website is discounted a bit, so you could check into that.

You should have plenty of time to book once you arrive - and also check out the various tour magazines for deals. We loved our time there - years ago - but not sure if I would pay for the luau there now, but would definitely visit the PCC. Check out the other luau choices you have on Oahu, or on the other islands if you are traveling to any of them.

Wait for discounts sort of a Mormon tourist trap but fun...

The place is a overpriced, ordinary food, tourist ripoff, don't go without a huge discount, or you will pay well over $100 a person for a student production and a bad buffet.

Polynesian Cultural Center has by far the best Polynesian entertainment in Hawaii.

And it is no more expensive than any other luau venue unless you want a tour guide.

It is actually the best deal for a luau venue in Hawaii.

You can get the Admission/Evening show package with the free buffet for $70 (less for kids).

You can get the Ali'i Luau package for $92 (less for kids).

Both include the evening show.

You won't get any discounts by waiting.

Book early because the seats for the evening show are reserved & the sooner you book the better the seats will be for the evening show for the package you want.

The luau show is definitely not a "student production".

They don't discount the tickets at the last minute, so the only discounts will be from coupons in the entertainment books and tourist papers in waikiki.

PCC is a fun place to visit. If you will be staying late, you might want to take their bus. It's a long drive back to Waikiki on a dark and winding road.

I don't comment on discusions..each to their own sort of thing, but in this case...we lived on Oahu...went to several times with Stateside visitors and always learned someting new about the Polynesian culture. We decided too that we would much rather give our money to an organizatio that teaches college kids about honest days work and to have pride in their heritage than to the street vendors...

Its been 6 years (boo hoo) since we went, and I recall the food being bleh, but the entertainment was great. Plan to spend all day.
