Pod Hotel (NYC)

How much is it on average for 1 night?

Anonymous Apr 7th, 2008 04:39 AM

More than you'd pay on Priceline for a 3* hotel.

The best source for your answer would be their own website. As with other hotels in NYC, the rates vary a lot depending on the date. You'll pay more in May or October than in January or August.

Their website doesn't list prices and I was busy getting ready for work. Agreed that they would vary but figured I would try. I am going to try Priceline for a room

Got the Comfort Inn Brooklyn Bridge for $95 for the night. Can't beat that price. Not the most ideal location but its a bed.

Like most hotel web sites, the web site will give prices if you use the reservation link and enter your dates.

The Pod Hotel's site is better than many, since after you enter dates and click on the "Check availability" link, the next screen has a 3-month calendar that is color-coded to indicate availability.

If you're arriving on May 30, for instance, you can pay $239 for a room with a double bed and a private bath, or pay $169 to stay in the bunkbed room with shared bath.

On biddingfortravel, the most recent post is from a bidder who got the 4* Grand Hyatt for that same date for $150.

Comfort Inn Brooklyn Bridge is about a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway, so yes, imo, you can beat the price by bidding on Priceline in Manhattan. People have been winning the Sheraton NY & Towers (4* midtown west) for ~$105-115/night and the 3* Hudson (upper midtown) for $130 or less. Have a look at the win calendar on betterbidding.com
Priceline is only good for a room for 2 though, so if you're more, look on Hotwire.

mclaurie, I tried those and was not able to get a room. Friend of mine is the one who got this one, nearly at the same time I did. I would have gladly paid more to be closer to a subway but I didn't choose. We will only have to do the walk twice so its not a big deal.
