Poconos skiing
We're planning to go skiing in the Poconos later this winter and would like to spend one night near/at a ski resort (don't have much preference which one). Does any one have any recommendations? I've heard the
Poconos accommodations are very hit-and-miss, and have already had a really bad experience at Caesar's Cove Haven. Would like to spend in the $100 - $200/night range. Many thanks, Kelly |
We go to Jack Frost, and there is a fairly nice hotel called the galleria, around there. Lots to do and bus service to the resort

Some of the hotels in Allentown have stay and ski deals from time to time. We stayed at a Holiday Inn near the airport a number of years ago. It's a Holiday Inn, but included breakfast, dinner and lift tickets at Blue Mtn.

Many thanks for the suggestions. Will definitely check those out!

Camelback in Tannersville is the biggest mountain in the area. The make tons of snow and have trails for all ability levels. Many motels in the area as well as the outlet mall. If you buy your lift tickets online 48 hours early, you miss the long lines and save money. Good luck.

Everyone's been talking about the opening of the new Great Wolf Lodge near Camelback. It has a huge indoor waterpark that looks like a blast. The cheapest suites are about $230/night (if you book through the web site),but that includes full use of the water park.
I am by NO means an expert skier, but I prefer Blue Mnt. or Elk over Jack Frost. |
Check into split rock lodge. Has a ski area of it's own and down the road from Jack Frost.
Good luck. |
