Please..more hotel advice needed
I thought my mind was made up and the Monte Carlo was it for our one-night stay on the strip. But the more I search, the more confused I get!
I had to switch some dates which altered the night we'd be on the strip and changed the prices somewhat. Here's what I'm looking at.... Monte Carlo - $90 Bill's Gambling Hall - $60 Circus Circus - $42 (Excalibur was in the $60 range, too, if I recall) Location as well as the hotel itself matters. We want to see as much of the main things on the strip as we can in our 'one afternoon and the next morning' before heading for the airport. Once again, thanks for all the help! |
If you want to stay at a convenient location, mid strip, then Bills is the way to go. It's a smaller casino, but the rooms are clean and nice.
Circus Circus is pretty far north, you could walk to the middle of the strip, but in the summer it would be so hot. Monte Carlo is a nice place, has a pool and is more south, but still close enough that you can walk places. If you really want to see as much of the strip as you can, stay at Bills. Have a good time! |
See Fodor's Destination mini-guide for suggested itinerary for first-timers:
http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgr...;feature=30002 Based on that, Bill's, Monte Carlo, or Excalibur would be convenient. See also monorail map: http://www.lvmonorail.com/ride/map/d...df_4.17.07.pdf |
Given these choices, I would go with Monte Carlo which is a good deal at $90 and which also has a great location between Bellagio and NYNY.

IMHO...there is no decision here. Monte Carlo is the way to go.
Bills and Circus will be a disappoinent for you, especially if this is your first Vegas visit. While Bills is the most central of these places, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the location of MC. The difference in property and casino is dramatic. Book the MC now and do not look back. |
Circus Circus is showings its age and is a long walk from mid-strip. Bill;s is good location, but Monte Carlo is a much better hotel/casino, worth the price difference.

Monte Carlo, it's a no-brainer!

Thank you all very much!
