Please make Restaurant Suggestions for Times Square Area

Hi, I am going to see a broadway show tomorrow and wanted some suggestions for a good place to have dinner afterwards. I heard Carmine's was good for Italian, please make other suggestions as well, Italian, Mexican, American etc... Thanks!

Carmine's is a good suggestion. Ruby Foo's is a great Asian place on Broadway and 49th.
Also, for a bit more upscale, Bryant Park Grill is good(and a great setting behind the library overlooking Bryant Park). It's on 40th between 5th and 6th.

Many threads on this topic. My advice is to do a search and you'll find plenty of suggestions.

There are endless of good restaurants on Restaurant Row which is on 46th Street between 8th and 9th Aves. Two of my favorites are B. Smith and Orso.
Some of the good suggestions for resturants that have been offered on this site include Chez Jospehine, Becco's, Joe Allens, and Carmines's. You can find addresses and reviews for these resturants on Fodors resturant site or City Search. Click on the rating numbers for the resturant and the reviews will appear. Hope this helps. Enjoy the play.

Not all the places suggested can be counted on to welcome you at 10:30 or 11 pm--I'd call and ask.

I think that a restaurant called the West Bank serves later, also I've read posts saying Chez Josephine is open later.

Just returned from NYC and had a wonderful meal at Carmine's at 11:30 p.m. one night. It was still crowded at that time since their last seating is at midnight.

We enjoyed a cocktail at the View Lounge (Marriott Marquis) and then checked on a table at Carmine's. We were told what time to return for dinner, which gave us an opportunity to walk around Times Square.

I highly recommend Carmine's (I found it on this board myself), as well as the places on Restaurant Row, as mentioned previously.

Have fun!
Elizabeth is clearly wrong. While some major New York restaurants are not open after theatre, all the ones mentioned above cater to after theatre goers. None of them will be a problem at 11 at night!! The one possible exception is Bryant Park Grill, which may or may not still serve weeknights that late, but does on weekends.

in Times Square-the Stardust Cafe I think it is called. It is an oldies cafe and the waiters take turns singing songs for everyone. It is just awesome! Its right next to a huge Bob Marley sign.

Another place that I've always enjoyed, which I rarely see mentioned here, is Roxy. Nothing fancy really, but HUGE portions, so it's an experience to be had at one time or another.

Carmines is TOPS! Wish they would move to San Francisco.
