Please help with 4 day trip to Seattle and Vancouver
 

Planned a trip to Seattle from 10/21/15 to 10/25/15. Hotel and rental car are booked. Plan to drive to Vancouver for 1 day. Any ideas on a 4 day itinerary? Thank you kindly.

Do you fly in and out of SeaTac?

Are you spending a night in Vancouver? If so, which night?

Get a Seattle Citypass... it gives you a great discount on several of the best attractions in the city...

Also consider the Vancouver trolley for hop on/hop off stops without having to park at each attraction... it also gives you a running narration for history and backround of the city...

This is now four threads by my count in which you ask the same question. Take it easy.

A day trip to Vancouver is possible but runs the risk of border delays, plus frankly it's not an especially pretty drive - not bad, just not terribly interesting.

If you're not staying overnight, then get an early start. Late October can well be rainy, so drive carefully and be mindful of short daylight hours.

Like Seattle, Vancouver's downtown isn't especially car-friendly, although you can certainly include Stanley Park, Granville Island, maybe the QE2 Park gardens and Bloedel Conservatory in your itinerary, then maybe park the car for some shopping or strolling.

If it's a weekday, traffic leaving Vancouver to the south is intense at rush hours, so plan accordingly for your return.

You might also consider a day trip on Amtrak. The morning train from Seattle to Vancouver leaves around 7:45 AM and arrives before noon; the evening southbound train leaves around 5:30 and gets in at 10 PM. That doesn't leave you a whole lot of time for the city, but it's relatively inexpensive and very relaxing and comfortable, with decent scenery for parts of the trip. http://www.amtrakcascades.com/default.htm

Vancouver is a long way to go for a day trip. Have you considered other options? 4 days in Seattle with an overnight or at least a day trip to ONP would be my choice.
