Breakfast? When my husband and I visited San Francisco - I obsessivly read the posts here for places to eat breakfast and was rewarded with some really great ones. Good coffee, eggs, bagels, some amazing bacon, home-made jam...atmosphere.

By the way besides hip American food in the neighborhood there are many mideastern restaurants including Tripoli and a Spanish restaurant called La Mancha which is not bad.
Last Saturday we had an appointment on Smith and Bergen and across the street was Los Pisanos, a well stocked, extremely friendly, old fashioned Italian butcher shop with the usual red suspects and game. It may be fun for a peek.

Don't thnk you have to go to Park Slope for good breakfast or ANY meals. But if you want to check out another Bklyn neighborhood, it might be fun. Lots of double strollers clogging up the Park Slope streets - so if you're into mommyhood, that's OK.
Very funny article last week in the NY Times about moms and their babies going to bars in Park Slope - tequila and formula? Or do they suckle? Anyway, there are annoyed bar-goers who don't want to be with crying babies and wet diapers. Not exactly what they're looking for in a bar experience.

Well, don't miss a little something Irish while you're here.

kenav can you offer some suggestions on hotdogs and good breakfast near the Nu Hotel? I think that might be more helpful . I'm guessing they may want to explore other nice neighborhoods during their stay.Park Slope, BK Heights, BH, FG...
And there are some nice restaurants in Park Slope and near Park Slope that they may want to consider. James, Al di La, Frannys, Applewood, Convivium, the Vanderbilt, Stone Park to name a few.
Please let's keep the PS stroller mom debate out of this forum-it's covered enough elsewhere.
