What kind of budget are you on?
If money isn't your top concern, then the Phoenician has 3 course, including one (the Canyon Course, I believe it's called) that's ranked by Golf Magazine as one the better resort courses in the nation. However, be prepared to spend quite a bit for a room that time of year. Again, if money isn't the main issue, you might consider the Boulders Resort. The resort and the courses, both rank very highly. There are several websites that can show you courses by area. Scottsdale, if I remember correctly, has something like 40 plus courses. If you go to www.golfcourse.com, you can search the area. |
I would definitely recommend Troon North. A 5 star (highest rating) course. Scottsdale Princess is a great resort. Expensive though.
You can also check out the Golf Digest website. There is a travel section. |
ryan,
I am not too worried about the expense. I have a free plane ticket out there already, so that helps. Thanks for your input! |
I also suggest The Arizona biltmore or Camelback Inn, neither in Scottsdale, but great hotels with courses.

The Phoenician has 27 holes of golf, not 3 courses.......
The Biltmore course is a resort course, interesting but nothing to rave about. Troon and Grayhawck are true desert courses and very challenging; they were too hard for me to really enjoy but very low handicappers would appreciate them. El Conquistador is an average priced resort to look at; if I remember well, it was easy enough to drive around to various courses from there. I prefer the luxury of the Phoenician or the Biltmore but since you did not mention budget , I threw in the Conquistador as an option. |
