Please help! Napa/Sonoma Hotel Recommendation for 5 Couples Trip
Planning a couples trip for 5 couples to Napa/Sonoma in November. Want a hotel that has "community areas" for us to hang out together at night, some during the day when we are not at wineries, etc... With 10 of us, we can be a bit loud so not sure a small hotel or inn would work. Wanting a 4 or 5 star. Recommendations please!
Thanks! |

We just stayed at the Hotel Healdsburg in Healdburg, Sonoma County, and I think it would work well for you. There are several lounge areas, indoor and outdoor, on the property, and it's right on the plaza, so easy walking to many restaurant and bar options. The hotel serves breakfast in the lobby lounge; there's a piano and a bar in the same lounge in the evenings. And Charlie Palmer's Dry Creek Kitchen restaurant is in the hotel, too, and it's excellent.

The Renaissance in Sonoma is wonderful. Make sure to pick one of the rooms that are more of the "chalets" so it's like having your own mini house. Great spa too.

If you don't mind a chain, the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa may be a good fit...big lobby area, a couple of "lounge areas", an attached restaurant that is open late, and a nice courtyard ( if the weather is good) Plus you're literally across the street from Railroad Square which has numerous dining options. SR isn't the best for "wine country ambience", but it is well situated for exploring anywhere in the county.

There are some beautiful estates available for rent in Sonoma County. By doing a vacation rental, you don't have to worry so much about disturbing other guests. Here's a website: http://www.beautiful-places.com/vill...all_properties
You might enjoy cooking in after a day of wine tasting. You could visit a farmers' market and dine on our locally sourced fresh produce, meat, fish, etc. |
