Please, evaluate my schedule for eight nights in NYC
We'll travel to NY (first time) in June for our honeymoon.
We'll be 8 nights in NY and then 8 nights in Boston. My schedule to Boston has not been finished yet. I will put that in (http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...-in-boston.cfm) as soon as I finish.
We arrive at JFK on 06/20 (Monday) at 06:00AM and will be hosted at the Sheraton Brooklyn.

Go to Broadway musicals will depend on finding cheap ticket for the day at the TKTS Discount Booth. But I would like to see at least three shows among (in order of importance): The Panthom Of The Opera, Rock of Ages, Mary Poppins, The Fantasticks, Billy Eliot, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; Forza Gross; Wonderland; Blue Man Group.
Probably, I will buy a New York Pass.
To eat, I maked a few options in Google Maps and will choose among them according to convenience.

Instead of standing on all those possibly-long TKTS lines, check the discounts currently available on broadwaybox.com. You can use the discount codes to purchase tickets online before you get to NYC or you can print the coupons with codes and bring them directly to the box office of the theater to purchase tickets. The theaters will have much shorter lines and you can still purchase a few days ahead.
I would not do all those museums in one day on your Day 4. I see you also have MoMA on Day 5.
Check online to see what the current exhibits are at the Guggenheim before paying the high admission price -- you may not be interested in the current exhibit.
On Day 7, St John the Divine a a long way to go from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden . . . doesn't really make sense to me. It might make a better stop on Day 8.

One thing you are missing: neighborhoods. There's no Greenwich Village on your list, no East Village, no Soho, no Union Square, no Lower East Side . . . These don't have the major sights, but they are areas where you will find real New Yorkers living life, as well as local shops and restaurants instead of nationwide chains.

I do not have a very very specific interest. Just wanted to see as much as I can for a first visit, without a bankrupt.
I will check the Guggenheim, maybe I'll just look the outside for some photos.
As to the MoMA and Met, is it ok to see on the same day or is too tiring? I will go to MoMA on day 4 if I buy the NewYorkPass or day 5 if not (free entry after 4PM in day 5). I will not go two times to MoMA.

My first suggestion is to change your hotel. Stay in Manhattan if at all possible. You will be glad you did. I would never consider staying in Brooklyn.
I think you are doing way too many things each day, and not making time to really experience NYC instead of "seeing things". It will be a whirlwind and you will have little memories. If the only things that are optional are the *'s, then I'd get rid of all of them (though I agree with ellenem that there are several of your choices I would remove.) I think you are making a big mistake by having a Broadway show optional. I think at least one is mandatory.
In 8 days, I'd probably see 3 or so.

First -your days are VERY busy. You haven;t left yourself time for the joys of NYC, walking through the different neighborhoods and getting a feel for the flavor. Having dinner in a sidewalk cafe and people watching. Window shopping - or in some places real shopping afterward (some places stores are open until 11 or 12 pm). Visit the upper west side, the Village and the East Village for a start.
You have an awful lot of "stuff" listed (Mme Tussaud's M&M store) which are really just a waste of time for adults, while packing several major museums into one day. Day 4 is not doable and Day 5 will walk your feet off. You can easily spend several days in the Met, MoMA deserves half a day. The Guggenehim isn't my favorite - but if you want to see it - then allow several hours. Or consider some of the dozens of other museums (I find Natural History a wonder - for people of all ages).
You also haven't really looked at immigrant New York - what made us - and is still making us - who we are. You should head for the Tenement Museum - and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum is brilliant.

Your schedule is hurried. I love Boston, but eight days is a lot there. Whatever you do in Boston, please go to see the glass flower collection at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. It is the most extraordinary craftsmanship I have ever see.

I just noticed that you want to go from Brooklyn to St. John's. That is an hour subway ride on the weekends.
St John's should be part of the day with Central Park because they are all on the upper west side.
And yes Harvard is in Cambridge not Boston.

I cannot change the hotel because I booked by hotwire.com. Luckily I saved a lot in comparison to staying in Manhattan. I think it was worth it.

Again, try to book a hotel in Manhattan..And the bset part of NYC is walking through the neighborhoods as stated by other posters. You really should visit those mentioned by Aduchamp1..Greenwich Village, West Village.
Where are you traveling from to NYC? Will you be dealing with jetlag? Also, be prepared for crowds at Penn Station.

I would do Battery Park and the Staten Island Ferry on Tuesday when you will be downtown, instead of trying to include it with all the midtown sites on Thursday. I also think Ellis Island is not to be missed, but I don't see how you could squeeze it in with all you've got planned already.

The hotel location is not as bad an option as another Brooklyn location might be. It is right near Borough Hall where the OP can connect to virtually every subway line. Be sure to take a walk on the Brooklyn Heights promenade.

Do not move B & H to Friday afternoon or Saturday they are closed.
The famous people at Green-Wood are spread out. They have maps at the office and the main entrance is the sole way in during the week.
Please also note that they do not give much notice at Penn Stattion as to which track the train will arrive. It is a mad rush down stairs or an escalator. Also do not pay extra for the Acela, the train cannot speed up until it passes the city of New Heaven.
Do not move B & H to Friday afternoon or Saturday they are closed.

Your schedule sounds a little hectic to me. On Day 4, for instance, you plan to bike and picnic in Central Park, go to a Broadway show, and explore these three museums:

All this activity may make you too tired to enjoy your honeymoon.

@HappyTrvlr, I cannot change the hotel. I'm thinking of how I'm gonna add these neighborhoods in the schedule. I'm traveling from Brazil (about 8 hours in air), so Jet Lag is something that concerns me.
@azzure, I'll pass by Ellis Island two times (circle line cruises at evening and Staten Island ferry at morning), so I thought that I could skip the island.
@ellenem, thanks for the Heights Promenade advice.
@Aduchamp1, thanks for the B&H advice, it's a must do for me. I won't go to the Green-Wood to see the grave of any famous person, but for the pictures I saw I believe it is very beautiful and different from the cemeteries that we have here in Brazil. So I thought it would be good for a morning walk while the Century 21 does not open the doors. Thanks too for the advice about Penn Station, I already bought tickets for the Amtrak train (reserved coach, not Acela) that part of NYC at 00:30PM and arrives at 04:40PM in Boston Back Bay.
@happytrailstoyou, I put a new schedule above, after the first, in that I try to solve these problems.

@azzure, I'll pass by Ellis Island two times (circle line cruises at evening and Staten Island ferry at morning), so I thought that I could skip the island.

@Aduchamp1, thanks for the B&H advice, it's a must do for me. I won't go to the Green-Wood to see the grave of any famous person, but for the pictures I saw I believe it is very beautiful and different from the cemeteries that we have here in Brazil. So I thought it would be good for a morning walk while the Century 21 does not open the doors. Thanks too for the advice about Penn Station, I already bought tickets for the Amtrak train (reserved coach, not Acela) that part of NYC at 00:30PM and arrives at 04:40PM in Boston Back Bay.
@happytrailstoyou, I put a new schedule above, after the first, in that I try to solve these problems.

You're going to need your subway pass!
A couple blocks from the Tenement Museum is The Pickle Guys store, where you can taste some fantastic sour pickles and sour kraut.

If I remember correctly there is a an excellent bagel bakery a block away on Grand Street. Get a real NY bagel and some cream cheese with chives!
Make sure you try a slice of NY pizza and some Italian pastries somewhere.
Cafe Dante in Greenwich Village has been a favorite of ours for a cappuccino and sfogliatelle.

B & H sells over $1 billion of equipment to Brazilians. It started many years ago when a few Brazilians would buy the cameras in NY and re-sell them back home. B & H did away with the middleman and they have a whole crew that speaks Portuguese.
I am not sure of the place that sells bagels on Grand Street but there are two places you should try. Kossar's Bialy's. Bialy's are made from something like pizza dough but they originated in Eastern Europe. And farther up the blcok is Donut Plant, which could make the best donuts in NYC.

You will have to clone yourself to accomplish everything on your list. Even New Yorkers do not pack so much into a day. People watching is a big part of the NY scene and visiting the maojr museums requires a bit more time to absorb and enjoy the exhibits. I would consider staying in Manhattan and rethinking the numbers of sites in a day. Stop and smell the roses..
