Please do not call California, 'Cali' or San Francisco, ' Frisco'. .

No one that lives in California. . So. Cal or No. Cal ever calls it 'Cali' ..

It is one of those things that as a native Californian, is like nails on a chalkboard for most of us that live in CA.
'Frisco' for San Francisco is another one that is totally not acceptable.

We love our tourists and want to help you out with love and happiness but it is very difficult when one starts off with, 'Coming to Cali' or ' One day in Frisco'.

Thank you and enjoy California!

Now that Herb Caen is dead 20 years, we call SF anything we want.

I thought the only people who called it "Frisco" were Oakies and truckers

And the cheap sweatshirt, post card, and travel mug industry. Don't forget them!

The real question is: is Oakie a slur or something that Oakland natives call themselves...I mean, this is important for tourists that may want to visit Oakland...

Yes - If I was a Cali'nian, and a tourist (who, by the way, I truly love) asked me for information about "Cali", I'd say "*#$% you and the horse you rode in on"! Same for "Frisco". Maybe "L.A." too. For sure "Fresno" - that's the worst one of all.

I agree. Cali is in Colombia, not the U.S.

No one? I think not. Lots of Californians say Cali. Guy Fieri says it all the time on TV and I believe he is a Californian.

Get over yourself.

I live in Florida, you can call it whatever you want.
