Please Critique our NYC itiniary July 5th
 

SATURDAY: Arrive 1pm. Go to hotel. Grab a bite... Go to the Met until 8ish.
Check out the Brooklin Museum as they are open until 11.

SUNDAY: Hell' Kitchen Flea Market, Little Italy, Chinatown. Go to hotel clean up Spamelot at 7pm.

MONDAY: Central Park, MOMA, Circle Line, Comedy Club 1015 show.

TUESDAY: M&J Show, SoHo, The Village, Hotel to change then shop on 5th Ave.

WEDNESDAY: Open for many things we have missed or stores we still want to shop.
Flight leaves from JFK @ 6:30. Leave city at 3:30.

Places to eat:Buddaken, Nobu,VNYL, Rays Pizza
Shop:CBGB is a must, Virgin Store, Urban Outfitters, House of Rock, House of Blues The Gothom
Does this sound good?

Some days are very ambitious like the first.
It will take you close to an hour by subway to go to the Brooklyn Museum.

Sunday sounds OK

Monday is definitely too much. Personally I think the Circle Line is not worth it.

I would skip Ray's it is nothing like it used to be. Ray's is a slice place where you stand to eat.
Try Lombardi's or Pizza Fresca which are whole pies and sit down restaurants.

I would not go to two museums in one day - for me it would be way too much to absorb. You could spend a week in the Met and a week in the B'klyn Museum and not see it all - plus they are not near each other.

I agree that Ray's pizza is nothing special.

Monday seems too heavy.

Monday seems OK to me as long as the Circle Line is the shorter Harbor Lights cruise. That leaves most of the day for MOMA and the park.

I agree that Ray's (any of them) aren't what they used to be, but keep in mind that Lombardi's and Grimaldi's and John's and all the other coal-oven pizza places serve up a completely different style of pizza than the pizza of my youth. They're fine, even good, but NOT what I am looking for when I think "New York pizza".

I think Monday sounds too ambitious. Some people can spend an entire day in MOMA or you can spend an hour. Same can be said for Central Park. If for some reason you decide to skip MOMA, check out their two gift shops, they are both a lot of fun. Personally I would skip the Circle Line, NY will be HOT this week and even though you will be on the water, the sun will probably be shining down on you.

The reason we chose the circle line downtow, is because it is an A/C boat tour and only lasts 1 hour. I thought the AC would be great about then and not too long.

We can skip the Brooklin Museum (teenager wanted to do the First Monday thing) and Famous Rays. The only thing that is written in stone are the flights, M&J show, and Spamelot. We have reservation to Buddakan, however we can change them. PS How is that restauraunt?

I am asking because I want to know if there would be similar issues with New York.

I agree with the others about first day... Brooklyn is too far from the Met. I believe the Met is open until 9 pm on Saturdays.

Agree with everyone on Rays. Never been to Buddaken.

If it's a short Circle Line that should be okay. Don't get stuck on the 3 hour one, you will be bored after the first hour and you can't leave!

Sounds like you like to shop at "hip" places. Soho, specifically Broadway between Houston and Canal, is packed with hipster stores. Check out H&M and Yellow Rat Bastard to name a few. There is an Urban Outfitters on Broadway just above Houston.

BTW, I saw Spamalot last year. Really kooky and fun. Right outside the entrance of the theater is a "cut-out" where you can stick your head in and take a goofy picture.

Thank you for the critique. We ruled out Brooklin and the boat is indeed, `1 hour. We are look for "hip" spots as my 2-17 yo girls are going to do school shopping.
