Please comment on Washington, DC itinerary

We will have 2 1/2 days in Washington, DC in April. We were there 10 years ago and saw most of the major attractions. Please comment or make suggestions on this itinerary. Thanks in advance!

Your plan looks pretty good. I don't think that you can fit the Nat'l Portrait Gallery, American Art Museum, and the Spy Museum into one morning, though. Check the web sites for opening times on Sundays. Sunday hours are usually different. Since you have the free afternoon, you may be able to fit them all in. Get your tickets to the Capitol Steps early because the show is often a sell-out. Enjoy your trip.

Are you going to the Phillips b/c you haven't been before? If so, I'd switch it out for either the American Art or Portrait Gallery. Nothing wrong with the Phillips but I think the new AA and PG are amazing and, as noted, you'll have trouble fitting them in on Day 2 with the Spy Museum.

If you're headed to the Phillips to see the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit, then leave it on the table. It's a pretty good one.

I very strongly disagree about skipping the Phillips, it's a stunner and not to be missed, IMO. It was the highlight of our last trip. I just think that on Sunday, if hours permit, push the Spy Museum to the afternoon and you'll be fine. (I haven't been, but I have not heard great things about the Spy Museum.) Everything else sounds great!

Thank you all for the good advice. Since the Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum open at 11:30, we will try for the Spy Museum in the afternoon.
We have been to the Phillips and we were going back because we liked it so much, not particularly to see the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit. (Saw a good one here in Houston fairly recently.)
Had to get an early reservation to Central Michel Richard on Sun. We will have time to stroll around a little and get a nightcap somewhere. Can you suggest some place for a drink with a nice view?
