Please Assist Jackson-Tetons-Yellowstone
 

Active parents and 24 yr old daughter planning a trip to the West. Its our first visit, 15-17days with working in the AM.
The last 4 days with be glamping in Yellowstone.
Potentially using Salt Lake city as Airport.
What are the must see and dos.
2 weeks in Sept.

Fodors has guidebooks and destination guides online as well.

Should we stay in Jackson or Tetons?

start by searching these forums. There are TONS of trip reports and queries on these very questions. You can click on my user name and find trip reports for Yellowstone and Jackson. You need to do your research first and then ask questions about details.

While I haven't stayed in Jackson area, you're a bit far to use it as a base for all Yellowstone days. I'd try to get a bit closer, like West Yellowstone (west entrance) or Gardiner (North entrance). From Jackson only to Old Faithful you have almost 160km drive and once you enter Yellowstone, it's a slows down the drive for many reasons like possible traffic, animals on the road, photo stops, road works, etc. So let's say 2 hours each way, that's a big chunk of time to waste.If you fly to Salt Lake City, Drive to Jackson area, sleep the night, depart in the morning, visit Grand Teton N.P. and get closer to Yellowstone.
west Yellowstone seams like the optimal location, other then staying inside the park itself. but it all depend on time allowance and what is it you want to do over there. Do you have any idea what you want to see/do yet?
