Play Recommendation Needed: Lombardi has closed
DH and I had tickets to see Lombardi when we are in NYC in June but alas it has closed early and our tickets were refunded. So we are looking for another play not a musical (going to see Mary Poppins with DD and FIL) to see instead. Any recommendations?

Born Yesterday -- see the Broadway thread farther down for even more recommendations.

The Importance of Being Earnest. It's a classic by Oscar Wilde. Brian Bedford directs and is hilarious as Lady Bracknell.

There is a world of difference between Lombardi, Born Yesterday and The Importance of Being Earnest! How about some hints about where your tastes lie?
War Horse is another possibility. That one is different from the other three! Again, it depends on what you are looking for. |
Not really sure where our tastes lie - prefer humorous over serious. Moliere is one of my favorites.

Come to Milwaukee--the Rep is doing Lombardi next fall.

Good excuse to go to Milwaukee! That's where DH grew up.

Based on your comments that you like Moliere and you prefer humorous, I would definitely recommend Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. And, to make it even more attractive, check out broadwaybox.com and playbill.com for discount offers!
