Planning a trip to Youngstown, Ohio

Hi. Can anyone suggest what to see while I'm in Youngstown, Ohio? I'll have three days around the holidays. Thank you!

Don't miss the Mafia Museum!

Sebastian:

Disregarding "Al's" stupid posting, I'm afraid that there isn't alot to do in Y-town. I do believe, however, that Youngstown State actually has a pretty good art museum. Check out their website at: www.ysu.edu for details. There is also a fairly-new museum of steelmaking history located in Y-town that looks interesting. I'm not sure, but there may also be a farmer's market in downtown Y-town. Try calling the Ohio Dept. of Travel & Tourism at 1-800--BUCKEYE, and they should be able to give you more info. The Y-town Conv. & Visit. Bur. is another option. Their website is: www.youngstowncvb.com.

If you're willing to drive a little, there are alot of things to do in Cleveland, and even in Akron. But keep in mind that Y-town is on the fringes of the "snow belt," so driving alot may not be preferable. Good luck!

Drive to Sharon PA and go to Quaker Steak and Lube, best wings on the planet. I drive an hour to take my kids there a couple times a year. While you're in Sharon, go to Ryers, world's largest shoe store ! Wheeling Downs in Wheeling, West Virginia has a casino and dog racing. I don't know of anything in Yougstown. If your email (skialot) means anything, Seven Springs in PA may be open for skiing.
