Places to stay in Boulder CO
Hi, My husband and I will need a hotel/motel to stay in for one night in Boulder at the end of March (soon)! I already have a reservation but we are paying about $170 and then parking on top of that. I'd like to find something cheaper, maybe $140 with tax, but I need a place that has firm beds as I have a bad back. I know this is probably a difficult request as most people don't have to call up a hotel and ask them about their beds - pillow top mattresses are too soft! However, if someone happens to have a suggestion, I'd be willing and happy to check it out. Many thanks!

For those of us who live here, recommending hotels is difficult because we don't use them. Also, why Boulder since you indicate a one night stay? Boulder is part of an extensive metro area so there are lots of hotels within a few miles of Boulder so is staying in Boulder critical? I would use something like hotel.com to see what is available in the area. Also check Yelp. As far as a firm bed, it would be totally dependent on the hotel so call them. What hotel have you booked?

Longmont is 15 minutes drive, and has buckets of new-built natnonal chain places. Loiusville is also 10 miles away, and has myriad places. The north Boulder holiday inn Express is ~$100.

We will have spent 5 days in Wheat Ridge visiting family and only have one day to head to a place more in the mountains. Found a place that will be OK afterall. Thanks for your thoughtful message.

Thanks so much!

That is why I was asking about why Boulder for one night. Boulder is in the foothills but really not in the mountains. If you really want to spend a night in the mountains head to Frisco, Breckenridge, or even Georgetown. Much cheaper hotels anyway and time wise less than an hour more.

As frmpden says, go to Frisco or such. The latter is a cute little town in the middle of Summit County. Lots of places to choose to eat and stay and great scenery on the way to and from it. While you are in Wheat Ridge, visit Boulder and maybe go to the Celestial Seasonings Tea company for an interesting tour.
