Places to stay ? ...Coastal Maine

We are searching for nice places to stay along the coast of Maine that don't cost and arm & a leg. Do You have any favorites?
Thanks

There are many great places in the south part. Kittery, York, Kennebunkport, and many others. There are many great beaches only open in the summer time and most have small motor inns along the shores. The bed and breakfast are more on the pricey side, but they are very well kept.
The north coastal area is also great with Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

At the risk of not being able to reserve next time, you should consider the Yardarm Village Inn in Ogunquit. Not fancy, but VERY nice and comfortable B&B (breakfast is served on the long porch with a glimpse of Perkins Cove). Short walk to Perkins Cove and the Cliff Walk. Ogunquit is fabulous. Be sure to see what's playing at the Ogunquit Playhouse during your visit. Feel free to e-mail for more details!

two summers ago I spent some time in Wells Beach. It is in between Ogunquit and Kennebunkport and is a very family oriented area. Alas, the place I stayed in was expensive but other places are less money. I especially liked it because of it's location. Wells beach has a Chamber of Commerce book that has most of the property's listed.

Don't miss Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There is whale watching, people watching, beautiful scenery (ocean crashing on rocky coast) and of course Lobster! The oceanarium in Bass Harbor is great, as is Schodic Point (don't miss the Maine-ly Maine Gift Shop in Trenton- one of the only places you can buy lobster traps and buoys). Have fun!

Ogunquit Maine is so beautiful. We went last June and stayed 2 nights at Colonial Inn. It was very nice, not on the beach but better. A great restaurant and within walking distance to everything.
