Places to eat near Phoenix
We are getting ready for a trip to AZ. Hotel accomodations are at the Boulders. Can anyone give me tips for fun places with local flavor to dine. We are beer lovers and prefer casual dining.
Thanks! |
The Satisfied Frog in Cave Creek (just a few minutes from the Boulders) is a fun local place - that brews its own beers. Try their famous chili beer.

Thanks for the information! I looked up the place and it is just our style! Looks like fun!

Another good restaurant close to the Boulders if Uncle Louie's. Here's a link to their website. They have excellent Italian food and it's a very casual place. http://www.unclelouie.com/menu.html

I also hit the Satisfied Frog in Cave Creek often (chili beer and artery clogging four cheese grilled sandwiches that are only on the lunch menu).
Another really fun place up that way is Greasewood Flat which is near Pinnacle Peak. Chilibaconcheeseburgers and beer outside with live music and locals dancing. People of all ages can go and they have firepits to roast marshmallows over. |
The Pedregal(s.p.?) near the Boulders use to have a couple of good restaurants.
|
El Pedregal? I'm not sure if that spelling is correct either...
|
Right now the only restaurants open in El Pedregal are the Bakery Cafe (good for breakfast and lunch) and a Ben and Jerrys. There are two restaurants that will be opening but I'm not sure when. (There were other restaurants but they closed).
