Places for a short vacation from NYC

We're trying to find a destination for a short (5 days) getaway in Dec from NYC. My wife is pregnant (going into 5th month), so long flight is out of question. We're looking for relaxation, nothing too adventurous. Any suggestions will be appriciated. Thanks!

The Carribean. I went to Barbados for 6 days when I was about 20 weeks pregnant. It's a 4 and a half hour flight, nonstop from JFK. I sat on the beach, played golf, ate really good food and had a wonderful time.

We thought of going to Carribean but she's concerned the effect of drastic climate change on the baby. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tell her to talk to her OB, it's not a big deal (mine was jealous I was going). She just needs to use the usual precautions - no scuba diving, no horseback riding, no hot tubs, etc. I did the trip in the middle of January, from a New York winter to Barbados.

If she really doesn't want to get on a flight, how about a gorgeous, plush B&B in Vermont with a fireplace and a great restaurant? We've always enjoyed the Four Columns Inn in Newfane. http://www.fourcolumnsinn.com/about.htm
