Place to stay in New Bern with a pet

Hi All....Hubby and I, along with our small,
well behaved dog, will be traveling to New Bern in July of this year. Wondered if there
are any places to stay that will accept pets.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

try checking on and for listings. I did not see any listed for New Bern.
When I am down in that neck of the woods with my pets I stay at the Atlantis in the Salter Path/Atlantic Beach area. For years it was against the law to allow pets in a hotel room. Although the law has changed it is still the exception not the rule to find pets welcome.
It might be worth calling the hotels to see if they permit pets since the website for the visitors page doesn't list that as a criteria.

Hi..thanks for the suggestions...I've
tried also looking in AAA's "Traveling With Your Pet"... nothing is there either.

What are other areas near New Bern called...maybe I could find a place not too far from there that would accept pets.

Also wonder if the town of NB is dog friendly at all???? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a query similar to yours on the North Carolina forum of tripadvisor. The response said the waterfront Sheraton accepts dogs and there is a dog park nearby. Go to and look under North Carolina for a New Bern post. While in New Bern check out the absolutely wonderful fudge shop and Yannas. Also take a look at the NC section of

I believe that Yannas closed 6 or 7 years ago.

New Bern is a dog friendly town. Friends take their dog to the Trent River coffee shop on Craven St every day and Union Point Park is a great place for pets.
