Place to Stay in Islamorada

My husband and I are escaping from kids for three nights and going to Islamorada. I am trying to decide between four places. Lime Tree Bay Resort, Coral Bay Resort, Caribbean at Sea Isle and Pines and Palms. We want a beach, dock, pool, room with a view and romantic place in general. Activities like snorkeling are no big deal. I want a pretty nice room. Any feedback or opinions onthese places? Thanks!

We stayed in Key Largo this year, but went to Hog Heaven in Islamorada for 2 dinners. One of the great people we met there gave me the following list for places she would suggest for us to stay:<BR>Pelican Cove, Chesapeake, Hampton Inn, and Islander. (She gave "pluses" to Islander and Chesapeake.) Please give us any input about where you end up - and have a great time no-matter where you land!!

we just came back from Hawk's Cay Resort on Duck Key. Just south of islamorada. it was absolutely beautiful. Just be sure to eat before 10:00.

let us know which one you pick and how it was. The long stretch between Miami and Key West is very skimpy on good hotels.

The reason there aren't as many nice hotels in the upper and middle Keys as one might expect from a major tourist destination is that Keys tourism has traditionally been based on fishermen and divers. These people spend all day on the water and when they get back they just want a hot shower, a drink at happy hour, a good meal, and then flop into bed to get rested for the next day on the water. What they are NOT interested in is strolling the grounds or sitting by the pool of a nice hotel all day.

We just booked two nights in Key West and two nights in Islamorada. In Islamorada we are staying at Pines and Palms. I will let you guys know how it goes. It looks very laid back and beautiful.
