We're booked into the Place d'Arms in New Orleans for our trip the beginning of October, anyone have any experience with or knowledge of this particular hotel? thanks for any info

Stayed there in May. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and in a good location.

I've stayed at Place D'Arms several times over the years and agree with the previous post - nothing fancy, but a nice room. It is very nicely located to Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde. Kind of right in the middle of everything.

The hotel is very well located and gets good reviews on nearly every travel board. One caveat: some rooms don't have windows (!) so make sure you specify what kind you want.

We LOVE the hotel. It's location is superb and they have a very nice courtyard. When staying there you get the feel of the Quarter without the craziness of Bourbon St. Unless you're looking for something really swank, you won't be disappointed.

I have stayed at Place d'Arms several times and request the rooms without windows specifically! I love New Orleans, but sometimes dread the all night revelry that spills off the streets and into my hotel room during the wee hours of the morning. Since I am usually in town during a holiday, festival or football game, it has been nice to get away from the crowds and get a good nights sleep. (I guess the years are catching up with me if I am concerned about a good nights sleep while visiting NOLA!)
One of the nicest features of the hotel, however is the courtyard where you can have breakfast in the morning--a nice touch.

Thank you very much for your replies. It's reassuring to know that we'll be in a nice hotel and a great location!
Now, if only the airline doesn't go and cancel our flight, we'll be all set
Thank you again
