PIZZA!

I'm going to Chicago next week and would like to try the best Chicago pizza...what do you recommend?

Lou Malnati's or Gino's East for great deep dish chicago-style pizza.

For good thin crust, try Renalli's on Lincoln which incidentally has one of the best outdoor eating areas and beer gardens in the city!

Edwardos on Dearborn

I agree with Ang. Ranalli's on Lincoln Ave. in Lincoln Park has a great outdoor garden and good pizza.
Malnati's is good also and I love Marcello's Father and Son on North Avenue in Old Town. Numero Uno is good but I would pass on Edwardo's which is a big chain with many in the suburbs.
My personal favorite is Nancy's. I know it has become a chain in the burbs, but the pizza is still great. TONS of cheese, and the sauce is perfect.

I don't think you can go wrong with Gino's, but I think it's reputation is as much "history" as it is "quality." It's good, but I think Malnatti's or Nancy's is much better.

Ask a bunch of folks in Chicago, and you'll get as many answers as there are pizzerias. It's much like asking for directions in NY....it's a competition and everyone thinks they know the secret. The beauty is, it's really hard to pick a bad choice.

Nancy's, Malnatti's, or Gino's. Not a bad one in the bunch.

Bricks on Lincoln, a complete hole in the wall that resembles an old wine cellar it's just down the street from Ranalli's.

Is your preference real thin crust (yum...) or a thicker crust. This makes a difference for recommendations. Ralph
