Pirates tickets

Does anyone know if there are scalpers selling Pirates baseball tickets outside the gates at PNC like at a lot of the other stadiums? They usually have better seats than you can get at the box office. We are going to be in Pittsburgh next week and would like to go to a game.

We were visiting Pittsburgh for a few days during July 4th, and we definitely saw scalpers selling tickets every day when there was a game (usually on the 6th Street bridge). But we don't live there so I can't say it happens for sure. And I can't tell you what seats they are selling.

There are scalpers at every ballpark for every game. My unsolicited advice: don't answer the question "how much do you want to spend". Ask what they have and what they want for it. You can expect them to offer the tickets at face value. Offer half, or 60%. $20 for a $30 ticket. Worst case is you buy tickets at the ticket window.

You ought to check out the ticket availability online (via links at mlb.com). The Bucs, like other organizations have a season-ticket resell program:

If you do get tickets at the ticket window and don't like your seats you can try going to the customer relations office and see if they have seats that you can exchange for. It's been almost 20 years since I've done this. Once at the Astrodome I had an obstructed view and easily got a great field level seat. At Jack Murphy Stadium had a field level seat way down the line and just had to ask/complain to get a seat behind the Padres duguout. This might not work these days.

I'd try the online reseller webpage first. You can choose your seats.

There are scalpers and given the amazing success of the Buccos this year, tickets should be cheap.

6th st Bridge, as mentioned is a good location. Closer to gametime the cheaper they will be.

I tend to prefer to purchase from Stubhubs then a scalper in person.

We have had great sucess and I like knowing that we have tickets, the seats we want et.

Yes, there are scalpers here. They are mostly in the vicinity to the Roberto Clemente Bridge--bridge is only open to foot traffic during games.
