Still haven't visited there but sure want to go. I think it's the number one destination for Southerners (other than New Orleans and Orlando). So much history, great architecture and unique cultures such as Gullah.

To me it is the most "european" city--very walkable, smallish, great history, great food, a true cultural component, as you mention the Gullah influence.

If time, visit Savannah as well.
