Sorry, Biker, but they are running on island time. May 15 date has been pushed back to early June, no exact date yet has been set. They are still waiting on construction and are still trying to fill positions.

Pineapple Grill is supposedly this new restaurant to open in Kapalua, the chef is the chef from Roy's Kihei. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey, Kalunchi, I tried to respond to this yesterday, but for some reason I could not post a reply to this thread. I answered you in another post, but I guess you didn't see it. Here is what I wrote:

Yes, they opened last month. I am especially pleased that they have kept their prices reasonable (well, reasonable for Kapalua, Maui).

Someone asked what the deal with Pineapple Grill? Well, anytime we get a new restaurant it is a big deal to us. Life on a relatively small island needs something new now and then. But other than that, Pineapple Grill is the brainchild of Joey Macadangdang, former executive chef of Roy's Kihei. He has brought his unique blend of island fusion and Filipino influences together to create exciting new flavors. I like the pineapple vineagrette dressing, DH is partial to the duck lumpia. I am in love with the porcini dusted seared `ahi lunch special ($15!).The desserts are worth the trip alone.

This sounds very nice! We will be in Kapalua in 3 weeks. Exactly where is this restaurant located (We're staying at the Kapalua Bay Hotel)?

dolciani, you'll pass it on your way to the hotel. It is on the golf course just above the KBH.

Biker,
Your trip report was just hilarious! My husband once had a similar experience on a horse when it tried to "rub him off like a tick" in the pine trees. You've definitely sold me on the Pineapple Grill and Sansei. We leave in 2 weeks (staying at the Kapalua Bay Hotel). Thanks!

I didn't mean to offend anyone when i asked what all the buzz was about. I just wondered if this was owned by someone famous or if there was a big story behind it. I am always interested in learning about new places to visit on our trips. I didn't mean to offend. sorry.
