New York City - West Village

Can you recommend a great place to have a drink/appetizers in the West Village for two 45-50 year old females? This will be on a week night about 830-9pm. We will be on a two day business trip and this is our only free time.

Thanks!

Little Owl, Bar 6, Otto's or....if you want to listen to some live music, La Lanterna or the Garage.

Elettaria on W. 8th Street is great for drinks, comfortable, gracious and really good wine list/cocktails and food. Or try Scarpetta on 14th Street, Gottino on Greenwich Avenue, Centro Vinoteca on 7th Avenue South, Blue Ribbon Bakery on Bedford St.

I like Alta which is on West 10th near 6th Avenue. It's subterranean but warm and inviting, has a great bar space and is tapas.

Little Owl is hard to get into. Otto is great but noisy. Haven't been to Elettaria but have heard great things, West 8th street may look a little grungy especially compared to a townhouse lined street like 10th street, but no worries there.

I'd take a walk on the Highline and then go to Spice Market but that is the Meatpacking district just north of the West Village

Cornelia Street is a small street with a nice slection of restaurants with bars. Here are the sites for Time Out NY and Village Voice which offer list many choices.
