Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West is fascinating, and the people who guide the tours are very knowledgeable. The Heard Museum of Native Cultures and Art is excellent, and the science museum is also good and fun for children. Just outside Phoenix is the desert museum.

Sam's Cafe is located in the Arizona Center in Phoenix (near the convention center). Great southwest cuisine. There are a couple of other choices in the same center.

Syl, we go out to Scottsdale every year to visit family and I've posted a similar question to yours several times...do a search on this board for a lot of helpful info on sights and restaurants. Also, will you be a party of adults only or will children join you as well?

We loved the Barrio restaurant when in Phoenix last spring. Really great food, no reservations so show up and hang out in the bar with a margarita while you wait!
