DC has plenty of good restaurants, also.

So if museums are not a big draw, you have food and sports interests, and apparently sports are off the table from your search.

So your entire trip is now down to being foodies? And seeking adventure? I don't think of any of these big cities as what adventure is about, but to me, that is an outdoors term for things like hiking, skiing, etc.

I live in DC area and one great thing is we have many days of the Banff Mountain Film Festival showing here each year, and that is its exact dates. it's at the National Geographic national headquarters but unfortunately sells out early and tickets are already gone. But the center might have some other exhibitions of interest in the general area of adventure. Also, the Natural History museum.

Well, if you want college hockey, choose Philadelphia as Princeton is playing Penn State on Jan 28th at the Wells Fargo Center.

Was going to suggest college hockey until Christina beat me to it. Boston has several possibilities including Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, and Northeastern. My guess is that you'll find this in Philadelphia or Washington as well.

Oh, and agreed that unless you want to spend your vacation gambling, Atlantic City is a non-starter.

I'm going to vote for Philly just because I'd want more time in both Boston and DC. But otherwise it would be Boston. I love DC but if you aren't museum people DC would be my last choice. Boston and Philly both have better historic cultures.
