Philly to New York City without driving thru NJ?

I need to go to 57th St., New York City. Without driving through New Jersey from Philadelphia PA. Can anyone tell me how to do that or if itís even possible? Thanks

Why do you not want to go through New Jersey?

How far out of your way are you willing to drive?

This is several hours out of the way...
Use Google maps to see the route
Philly to Doyleston, PA to Easton PA to Milford PA to Port Jervis NY to Goshen NY to White Plains NY to NYC
5 hours 39 minutes
vs 1.5 to 2 hours through NJ

What is your reason to avoid the easiest route? Or take the train. But Amtrak goes through NJ too.

Did you enter the points listed in #3?

Maybe you shouldn't try to drive at all. If you can't follow those directions online, you'll probably cross the state line along your drive.

here's the map that starrs suggested
via Tarrytown (not White Plains).
You can smoothe out the small kinks as you wish.
