Philly Steak Sandwich - Where

Where is the best place in Philly to have the "authentic" Steak Sandwich?

Pat's on 9th and Wharton in South Philly is a local institution. Some argue Geno's in better, try 'em both as they are a right near each other.

My vote goes to Geno's at 9th and Passyunk, right across from Pat's. Others swear by Jim's Steaks at 4th and South.

I go to Pat's.

The great Philly debate goes on...Genos or Pats...depending on what local takes me out for a cheesesteak, I end up at either place. They are located on opposing street corners, too...

There are two more places that have cult followings (I am fans of both): Tony Luke's and Campo's. Their websites are tonylukes.com and camposdeli.com.

Without question, Pats and/or Genos. You should really try both (since they are within a block of each other).

Well, I had Pat's. My big question is WHY would you want one!? I thought they were really pretty tasteless and yucky.

Because it is a Philadelphia TRADITION!
Try some soft pretzels too.

Go east to Pittsburgh and get a Primanti Bros. Sandwich. Fries and Cole Slaw on the sandwich with Red Devil Hot Sauce is a sandwich second to none. Skip Philly and head to the Steel Town.
