My husband and I are spending a night during the week at the Marriott Courtyard (for the flower show)looking for restaurant suggestions - chinese, seafood, italiant, steak - Any suggestions?

As a longtime Philly denizen with strong connections with those who run the PFS, please attend the show after 3 PM when the bus tours leave--thousands come from Altoona, Scranton, York, etc. on bus tours to see the show.

For restaurants, I recommend:

Rouge--fun, casual, on Rittenhouse Sq.
Devon Seafood
Susanna Foo-Chinese
Davio's--Italian
Il Portico--Italian/Continental
Capital Grille--steaks
Buddakan--Asian fusion
Ralph's--Mama's chicken parm
The Fountain--VERY EXPENSIVE, in the Four Seasons Hotel. LOVE IT!

If you have a car, you could head to Main Street in Manayunk to eat at Derek's or Jake's.

Be sure to stop by the Reading Terminal Market for lunch! They have all types of food, with a big emphasis on Amish food. It is an experience!

The Four Seasons would be a wonderful treat! They have a nice Sunday brunch.

I also like Tangerine, near 2nd (or 3rd) and Market.

For the best cheesesteak go to Jim's at 4th and South.

marginal gave you some good options but other than Rouge, Ralphs and Devon, I'd avoid unless I was on an expense account (I personally think Il Portico is wildly overpriced and not a great choice). Here are some alternatives where the food is just as good at a fraction of the price:

Chinese: Shaio Lan Kung (9th and Race)
Italian: Osteria (brand new from the owners of Vetri on North Borad St).
Seafood: Samson Street Oyster House, the last of the real Philadelphia oyster houses.

An incredible new place is Amada, which is Spanish/Tapas on Chestnut St.

The "Angry Lobster" special entree at Buddakan (sp?) is one of the best single dishes I've had anywhere, anytime (and I eat out about 8x a week here in New York City).
