Philadelphia restaurants with toddler
 

Sorry for the repost - I failed to post this under Pennsyvania the first time.

Can anyone recommend a couple of good restaurants within walking distance of the Marriott Center City that are kid-friendly? Our son is 2 1/2 and very well-behaved (no kidding!) and eats out with us a lot. We are not interested in chains (chicken fingers and french fries not necessary - he actually eats vegetables). Just good food and a decent wine list, where we won't get the evil eye for having a toddler with us. Thanks in advance for the advice.

you'll be right near Chinatown and anywhere in Chinatown is kid OK. We like Southeast Restaurant (corner of 10th and Arch) but almost anywhere is good (look for a crowded room)

Hi Stellablue, not familar with Ph. but one trick to find out if a restaurant is child friendly is this. When you find a restaurant that interests you contact them and ask if they have a booster seat your child can use. If the answer is yes you know that you will be relaxed bring your little fellow to that restaurant.

Now, what in heavens name is your secret. Your son eats vegetables??? You should write a book, you would make a fortune I would imagine. Good for him.

stellablue, one other thing. No fault of yours, Fodors does not make it easy to understand.

No matter what state you post under all the post come up on the United States Board. If someone wants just Pennsylvania they can click that state on and see theads that have titles that pertain to that.

But almost everyone just clicks on "United States". Very few people just click on one or two states. You will note both of you post showed up here. BTW, you did a fine job of showing exactly what question you had in your title. Wish everyone would do that. The generic "need restaurant help" or " HELP" leave a little to be desired, LOL.

Try Ly Michael, on 11th St. just north of Arch. It is fusion - Asian, continental - very good food, terrific appetizers, lots of choices.
It's casual, and children are welcome.

For Chinese food, one favorite is Lee How Fook, on 11th St. north of Race. (No bar.) Vietnam, next door, has good Vietnamese food.

There is a French bistro called Caribou Cafe on Walnut St. between 11th and 12th.

These are all good, but I would try Ly Michael.

If you like Italian, consider Maggiano's across the street from the Reading Terminal Market. Surprisingly good quality with more than ehough to share with a toddler.
