Philadelphia - Philly Phlash
Hi all,
Am heading to Philadelphia in a couple of weeks for a weekend - thought I'd take the Philly Phlash to get around - any thoughts on this or do you think the local bus/subway service is a better bet? thanks |
I think the Philly Phlash is awesome. Only $1 (the bus I think is like $2). The few times I rode it I had absolutely no complaints.
|
just curious - what is the philly phlash?
|
I think it's a bus that does a tour of major sites in Philadelphia.
|
The Phlash is a bus that makes a loop of the historic district. You pay one fee for the day and can hop on and off to see the sites.
|
Here's info on the Phlash:
www.gophila.com/phlash The cost is $4 for an all-day pass. It stops at all the tourist sites in and near the Center City area -- but nowhere else. If you want to visit only those sites, it is you best bet. An all-day pass on Septa is $5.50, and will permit you to ride busses, subways, and trolleys within the city. If you're not staying where the Phlash goes, or want to see things where it doesn't go, a Septa day pass might be advantgeous. Tokens for Septa rides are $1.30 each. |
This is info I just received today from gophila.com
"Jump aboard the Phlash! All Season Long It's the best way to get around town. For only $1, the Phlash will take you through a 19-stop Center City loop, running daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Serving 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 50 major attractions from Penn's Landing to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, there's no easier way to visit everything in Philly. www.gophila.com/phlash" Best dollar you'll ever spend. |
