Also want to throw out the Barnes Museum. The Barnes is located in Merion, PA. It is in the former mansion of Alfred Barnes with a fabulous collection. The local township has limited the amount of people that can enter, so if you are interested, buy tickets now for the day and time. It will be moving in the next few years to a location near the Art Museum - many are concerned that it will lose the special flavor that it has. He was also very specific about the placement of his art and certain things were in certain spots for a reason. There have been promises (alleged) that his placement will remain in the new location, but I don't see how that is possible. The gardens are also beautiful. I believe you can take the bus or the train there.
