Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas

We'll be in Las Vegas in May and are considering seeing Phantom of the Opera. I was just looking at the seating chart which shows the lettered rows, but not the seat #'s. For example, I saw seats available in row K, seats 1 & 2. Are seats 1 & 2 next to the aisle or further in? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I found a seating plan at www.ticketmaster.com, and the way I read it, seats 1 & 2 are at the extreme left of the orchestra--the closest seats to the wall on the left facing the stage.

Sunshine - We've seen the original Phantom at several venues, several times. If you've seen the Phantom, know it and the music well, I really don't suggest you go to the Las Vegas version. It's shorter and we felt cheated. The cost is enormous $160.00 per ticket. They allow late comers to be seated throughout the entire show, which is disruptive. If you haven't seen it before, then you might want to go.

As for the seating, we sat in the Gold Circle on the aisle. Sit closer to the center. I think K is too far back. If you can get closer to the front, do so. Also, we stayed at the Venetian and had concierge book our seats. If you're staying there, call them directly, you get better seats that way and they hold them for you at their desk.

TTess, I'm glad to see you post that response. From the time the Vegas version opened, I had noted that it is nearly 45 minutes shorter than the original, and I know they have speeded up tempos and cut sections of songs as well as entire sequences. Several people had posted that they couldn't tell the difference, and I've always wondered how that is possible if you had seen the full scale version.

I have to disagree with TTess. We just saw Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas last Tuesday and we thought it was great. We, too, have seen it before (twice) and didn't feel cheated at all. It is a wonderful production of Phantom. The cast was very talented.

We sat in the first row Balcony dead center and were in seats 24 and 25 I believe.

I can highly recommend.

Thanks for the info. We have seen Phantom several times already. We're thinking about whether we want to see it in Vegas.

If you have seen it already, why not check out some of the other great shows in Vegas?

"O" is a show that you will never see any place other than Las Vegas.

We've seen all the Cirque shows, Danny Gans, Celine Dion, Le Reve, Mama Mia. I'll look online to see what other shows look interesting. Thanks again everyone.

You're welcome, Sunshine. I peeked at an LV website and saw that Spamalot will be there in May. I don't know if it's abbreviated (!!) but we saw it on Broadway and enjoyed it. Some friends just saw it in London and enjoyed it, too.
