Petite Auberge or White Swan in SFO

I heard these are sister properties. Has anyone stayed at either and which would you choose? They are part of a travelocity package for a week stay in SFO.

We have stayed at the Petite Auberge twice, but i have to tell you it was over 10 years ago.
It is a very charming little B&B with great breakfasts and a fairly good location near union square. we really enjoyed it.
i believe the only difference in the hotels is their decor: one is french country and one is english country.

Dina4- I had read the decor was the only difference and was curious as to why the White Swan was more money.
It looks like we will not be renting a car so local transportation and maybe a guided tour into wine country will have to do for this trip. Did you take any tour or buy the City Pass?

hi pheasant,

I didn't realize the White Swan was more $$. Maybe the rooms are a bit bigger because the rooms at the Petite Auberge are very cozy.

We have not ever bought a CityPass or taken a tour, other than the auido tour on Alcatraz. (which was great)We have visited San Francisco probably a dozen times, and the transportation is really easy. you would not want to drive in the city, and parking is really expensive. Cabs are not expensive, the cable car is fun, and we always do a lot of walking. The two times we went to Napa we did rent a car.

It is such a gorgeous city. I hope you have a wondeorful trip!

I am going to check out the City Pass online and the free walking tours. It looks like we are ready to start planning our days. Anything hits or misses on your dozen or so trips?
