Pet-friendly restaurant in Asheville?
My husband and I, along with our pooch Rufus, will be visiting Asheville for a day/night next month and will be driving from Charlotte. We imagine we will get to Asheville around 11:00 am and will not be able to check into our hotel (and drop off the dog) until later that afternoon. I'm hoping to find a place to have lunch that has an outdoor patio that allows dogs. We've been to Asheville several times but usually, because of the dog, we end up with fast food or something similar.
Thanks! |

cmc, you are awesome!! Thank you! LOL...And no worries...Rufus will be in the safe confines of our hotel room when I hit up Chocolate Fetish, and this time I know to eat all of the chocolate before he has a chance to get a hold of it!

By the way, have you tried any of the restaurants listed? I've heard good things abut the Laughing Seed Cafe, but know nothing about the others. I'm going to research them now.

Flying Frog Cafe...definitely
Salsas if you like some heat to your food |
Three Dog Bakery is for treats for Rufus. The Laughing Seed is the only one I know and I like it quite a lot. the others are very casual and have outdoor seating where dogs can join their owners. Asheville will be lovely so you should have a great time.
I do love the Flying Frog Cafe which smixson mentions, but don't think it is dog friendly. Try it some night when Rufus is sleeping. Have fun, Tracy |
cmcfong, I wanted to thank you for your pooch-friendly recommendations! We went to Asheville this past weekend. Our first stop was Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, where we sat on the patio with Rufus and enjoyed a nice lunch. The food was really good!
Instead of partaking in the "lovely" free continental breakfast at the Comfort Inn, we went to the Sunny Point Cafe for breafkast before heading back to Charlotte. Again, the food was really good and it was nice being able to sit outside with Rufus. smixson, we didn't get to the Flying Frog Cafe for dinner because it was absolutely packed so instead we went to Salsas. The food was excellent! I was expecting traditional Tex-Mex food so we were pleasantly surprised by the menu options with Carribbean influences. Very different from anything we've had before, and I would definitely return. Thanks again! Tracy |
Great information.
