PERFECT LAST DAY IN MAUI

As we won't be leaving until midnight of our last day and will have to be out of our place early in the day at Napili Point Resort, we're wondering what the perfect ending of a 2 wk holiday in Maui would be. How about a sunset sail and then a wonderful supper? Does anyone have any other ideas to help me out here. I don't want to pack too much in but I don't want to waste the day in paradise. So far we're 9 days in South Kihei, then 2 days in Hana area then 3 days in Napili area. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks again.

How about seeing the Iao needle, then dinner at Mama's? Dinner there would at least have you end up close to the airport. How sweaty do you mind getting with no place to shower, other than a beach shower?

We just got back from Maui Saturday and were also on a red-eye flight on Friday. Since our car was full with all our luggage and cameras I was a bit leery about leaving it unattended for a long time so we drove around the island going northwest and then to the upcountry area. I would not do that again. The rental company suggested we give ourselves 2 hrs. prior to our flight leaving for customs and check-in; which, we felt, was a good idea. We ended up in Paia for dinner (had a pre-dinner drink at Mama's). A sunset cruise AND a late dinner at Mama's may be cutting it close. Sun sets around 6:00. Traffic towards Paia from the west Friday night was moving very very slowly as we headed towards the airport from Paia. Mama's has valet parking so a loaded car would be safe if the cost of dinner there is not prohibitive. We ate at Milagros and parked our car up the street. It was a great "people watching" spot and dinner was good but definitely not romantic. Remember, after the sun goes down, sight-seeing is not so "fun". I planned on shopping in Paia, but the shops closed by the time we finished dinner. I would go with a sunset sail that includes dinner. Spending a few hours at the Maui Ocean Center prior to the sail would be a nice finishing touch. We did it on Thursday and spent over 3 hours there. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!!! Mahalo :)
