What did you want to know? Before I moved there, everyone told me about how beautiful the beaches are (they are beautiful), but I didn't find the beaches made up for all of Pensacola's shortcomings. It depends, of course, on where you're moving from, what you're looking for, etc. Some people love it. What specifics are you interested in?

Pensacola does have its shortcomings, but it's not a bad place. Great weather and the beaches really are beautiful. If you're going to be here for a while, you might consider living in south Alabama. Cost of living is cheaper than P'cola, lower property taxes, cheaper housing. The drive is about a half hour, depending on which part of P'cola you're going to. That time is based on Gulf Shores to the naval base.

I live in Pensacola - and would not live anywhere else. I love it and although I love the beach, I rarely go out to Pensacola Beach. The cost of living is low here and that allows me to travel and see other places. It is a great town, with a lot to offer.

As for the previous post about living in southern Alabama - I, personally, would not live there. The Gulf Shores Orange Beach areas still retain their "hick" appeal. And granted it is a fast growing area like Pensacola.

I think you'll love Pensacola. And of course - everyone will want to come visit you here and see the beautiful beaches.....

That's good, Killian. You live in a town where Velveeta is found in the gourmet section and you're calling others hicks...
