Pensacola
Going for a weekend mid February. Is there anything to do there? Will not be able to go to New Orleans.
Thanks |
Anyone?

Hi!
I really don't understand what you're asking. Do you mean Pensacola Florida? |
Stayed @ the Marriott several years ago and it was very nice. Went to the naval air station and museum where the Blue Angels are stationed. Try www.visitpensacola.com they're having some Mardi Gras parades and events around that time.

Ahhhhhhh Now I get it. You mean you can't go to Mardi Gras in NO so you're substituting Pensacola. I agree with the above poster. The Naval Air Museum is wonderful! A great way to spend an afternoon.

Actually, I hadn't even thought about Mardi Gras. I am visiting my son who recently enlisted in the Navy and is now in school at NAS Pensacola. But I am grateful for the suggestions. The museum came highly recommended from a friend also.
Thanks for the info. |
The museum at NAS Pensacola is well worth seeing. There's also an old fort on the other side of the base. If you play golf, they also have a great golf course -- your son could get you on.
McGuire's Irish pub is a great place for dinner and some Irish music. They serve Prime beef. If you are there on the weekend, their prime rib is the best. Mobile, Alabama, is about an hour or so away if you wanted to go visit the battleship & museum. Downtown Pensacola is nice to walk around. If you're not from the area, several seafood houses around to take some shrimp home. Have a nice visit with your son, and thank him for me for his service. ((b)) |
