Pennsylvaina Restaurants

We will be staying at the Alexander Inn June 5 thru 7 and want some suggestions to some nice restaurants and some places to go sight seeing.
My husband can not walk too far so we need places close by.
Thanks

where In Pennsylvania would that be?

Well, Fox, this is one step better than your previous post when you simply asked for restaurants and mentioned the Alexander Inn with NO mention of state. At least we now know which state. But we still don't know where it is. Pennsylvania is a big state. Are you looking to drive 4 or 5 hours for dinner?

Fox34, the more details about where you're going and what you desire in your post, the better.

Curiosity got the better of me so I googled Alexander Inn, PA & came up with Philly as the mystery city!

Just take a taxi. Philadelphia is a pretty small city (at least where the good restaurants and main sightseeing spots are).

Actually, you can walk to a lot of nice restaurants from the Alexander Inn.
Go to www.gophila.com for info on dining and entertainment.
You have the entire historic district to site see. There are walking tours also. Go to the Visitors Center first and get a free timed ticket to visit Independence Hall. The Liberty Bell and Constitution Center are right there too.
Phila. has a great Art Museum too.

I realized - too late- that I had not put in the city of Philadelphia in my request - DUH!!
Also, didn't realize I had already put one in for Pennsylvania double DUH-DUH!! Anyhow, thanks for the answers as we are driving up from Delaware but are just parking the car and then go take in the sights.

Posted this under your original post that also didn't identify Philadelphia in tag line:

Mercado is a terrific, affordable BYOB right nearby. Vetri is one of the finest restaurants in the country - also nearby - but book NOW for June (it's hard to get a reservation). There are so many great restaurants that are easy to get to from your hotel. It all depends on your price range and what kind of cuisine you want.

Read Craig LaBan's restaurant reviews online at the Philadelphia Inquirer website. You can also check restaurant listings by going to Philadelphia Weekly or City Paper's websites.

Sightseeing is the same - depends on what kind of activities you like to do. You are within easy walking distance to Independence Mall/Liberty Bell, Reading Terminal Market, South Street, Penn's Landing, Rittenhouse Square. Plenty of public transportation surrounding Inn can take you to other points (Art Museum/Parkway, ballpark, etc.).

If you like good Mexican, there is a "bring your own tequila" place called Lolita's at 13th & Sansom. Stop for gelato at Capogiro's or a decadent afternoon snack at the Naked Chocolate Cafe at Juniper and Walnut (between 13th and Broad St.)
