Penn Station to Newark
 

Do the trains to and from Penn Station and Newark run all night? If not what are the hours? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

On weekdays, first train New York-Penn to Newark-Penn is 4:42am, last one is 1:41am. Northbound first train is 4:52am, last one is 2:01am.

There's also one AMTRAK service at 2:45am from NYP to NWK. www.amtrak.com

NJ Transit trains run frequently to Newark From NY Penn Station. You'll be able to see the times from the schedule at their website.

I would not consider Amtrak an option for such a short ride, it's probably about 4x the price, at least.

Having missed that train late one night, they definitely don't run all night! Don't know the specific time though.
If you miss the NJ Rail, the PATH train runs all night (but not out of Penn Station) - from World Trade Center and 33rd (will have to change trains for Newark train from 33rd). http://www.nj.com/njtransit/path.html
