Penn State football traffic question

My husband is traveling from Buffalo New York to State College PA for the Univ. at Buffalo Penn St. football game this Saturday. What kind of traffic can he expect on game day? The game starts at noon. Does traffic get really heavy approaching the town? Thanks in advance for your help.

I haven't been to a game in several years and travel from a different direction (Pittsburgh). However, I don't think I am wrong in saying the traffic will be terrible. Hours before the game the traffic moves very slowly, in only one direction, to the stadium. Leave early, get there well before kickoff, walk around town. University Park is beautiful and State College shops, bars, and restaurants will be open and busy.

YES traffic gets bad. When over 100,000 people attend a game, there is going to be heavy traffic. Is he staying in town? If so I hope he has a hotel that provides parking. There are parking lots for the stadium, but the tail gaters get there early and later arrivals have quite a hike from their parking spots.
If he has a parking space in town, there a busses to the stadium.

I drove the area on the way to Chicago oe Saturday. The exit for the Penn State game was backed for like a mile or more, and traffic was just creeping along.
