Peep-Peep-Cheap-To-Sleep
My wife and I are going to Maui in Oct. of this year, the question I have is this....Where is there a good, cheap, (but not run-down) hotel, B & B, Etc. in Hana? We love the road to Hana, but I got Ill while we were only 10 mins. out so I turned around...sigh, IF ONLY!!!!! Any suggestions on the room, counter-sickness, and other sights to see around the Isle would be GRRRREAT!!!!!!!!!
|
How can you say you love the road to Hana then state you were only on it for 10 minutes? Get real.

As far as I can tell, the words cheap and Hana do not go together.
|
If Anon you are too chicken**** to give out your real name because of your rudeness, I might suggest a porn site for you because that is the only place you would find people of your "smarts"?? For all the other people out there, I DID have a wonderful time during my last visit to the islands, and am looking forward to our trip in Oct. P.S. My Dr. is giving me motion sickness meds. for our trip!!!!

There are both condos and at least one B&B in the $100 range. We stayed at the Hana Kai Resort Apartments right on the water. This is an old telephone number
248-8435 don't know the area code. It is well worth spending two nights in Hana. If you travel slowly the car sickness is less of a problem and you can try the typical seasickness pills. You should have no problem then.

Greg, do I empathize with you! Motion sickness is a curse I had to endure until I tried the Transdermscop (sp?) patch -- although it didn't help me on our first and last cruise, but that is another story. When it was taken off the market for a couple of years, I became "best friends" with a pharmacist who kept me informed of new drugs on the market. This is how I learned about Scopace. My doctor was not familiar with it, so I had to have him call my friend the pharmacist to get updated. It has the same drug as the patch (scopolimine, sp?) but is not time released. It lasts for four hours and doesn't have the lingering side effects I suffered with the patch. If my journey is longer, I take a second tablet 3 1/2 hours later. It does leave me incredibly thirsty, but that is a simple problem to solve.

BTW, before anyone suggests Dramamine, etc., the over-the-counter drugs did absolutely nothing for me except take my money. ;-)
Thanks for the advice on seasickness stuff...I also have a good friend who is a M.D. and I will follow up on your suggestion, for I felt doomed from the get-go that no matter what I tried--my WIFE would make it to Hana and not poor little old me....(hear the sad music?).Also, I must tell all who hits my question that I'm sorry for my response to Anon, for I should not have had to stoop to his/her level. Keep the help coming guys, you'll never know how much we are going to use it, as we have already started making calls and asking questions. Once again, THANKS :)

Honey, you have a reading comprehension problem. There was nothing nasty in Anon#1's post. Looking for a fight are we?
|
The real question, anon, is do know of an inexpensive place to stay in Hana. We on this web don't think anybody is looking for a fight.
|
As was previously stated, I don't believe the words Hana and Cheap go together.
