Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona

Okay, I have been looking and looking on the net for a good tour. I was hooked on the actual Pearl Harbor Cruise to then find out that the cruises are no longer allowed after 9/11. bummer. Has anyone taken a nice tour and with whom? Also, is it just as nice to drive there ourselves and do the tour?

Thank you very very much ... leaving in a week :-) Watch out sun here we come!

Drive your car over there and take the tour--whatever it is now. You don't have to go on an organized bus trip unless you are timid. Just get a map and do it. No problem.

We did the tour ourselves in Feb. 2002, best to get there early in the morning. As I recall they would not let you carry any bags, however they let me carry in a camcorder and camera. When you return from the tour walk over to check out the WWII submarine-a great photo setting.

Stacey,

Pearl Harbor is free and includes a movie and boat ride out to the memorial. Tour boats/cruises are not allowed to dock at the memorial and IMHO are a waste of time and money. Much easier and cost effective to DIY by driving or taking the bus to Pearl Harbor. Arrive early and get in line for tickets.

Don't bother looking for a commercial cruise in the Pearl Harbor area , it's not really that scenic of an area and pretty boring as you will not pass near any naval ships.

Thank you to all. I will heed this advice and we will diy ... and go early. :-)
