there are plenty of helpful and informative volunteers who will gladly answer any questions. I see no real advantage in going as a group.

The commercial tour boats cannot stop on the Arizona Memorial; they only go by it. It is very easy to take a bus or drive to the Arizona Memorial Visitors Center, where tickets with assigned times are handed out for free. You can also tour USS Missouri or the submarine USS Bowfin from WWII for a price. There is absolutely no reason to pay for a tour.

I went with Polynesian Adventure Tours. www.polyad.com The tour was great, and would be perfect if you have an evening flight home. They pick up right at the airport.

GO EARLY - beat the bus tours that arrive around 9 a.m. Perfect activity your first day when you are getting up at 4 a.m. :)
